Graphic design Specialist pitch
Congrats, you’ve made it to the pitch!
But, what is a pitch? At TDC, all team members join by “pitching” a project in front of a few members of our team. You’re given a design challenge, a few days to work on a creative solution, and then present it to the team! You’ll have about 30 minutes to present what you create in any way you’d like and then we will have a 30 minute discussion afterwards where we can ask each other questions.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to email me at kristin.lewis@tdcmarketing.com.
Overview
Pendleton Community Bank (PCB) is exploring a slight visual rebrand. They want to modernize their logo and visual identity to feel fresher and more contemporary—while still retaining enough of their existing look to remain recognizable to their loyal customer base.
As part of this exercise, you will design 3–5 logo concepts and then expand upon your strongest concept with a basic brand style sheet.
About the Client
PCB is a community-focused bank with deep roots in Virginia and West Virginia. While they’ve grown significantly, they pride themselves on their strong customer service and community involvement. They want to reflect that while positioning themselves for the future.
The Problem
The current logo feels outdated. PCB wants to refresh their visual identity in a way that feels:
Trustworthy and professional
Slightly more modern
Approachable to a younger generation, without alienating their long-standing customer base
They are not looking for a radical rebrand, but rather a refined evolution.
Design Goals
Propose 3–5 logo design directions, with at least one option incorporating visual elements or structure from the existing logo.
Maintain a sense of tradition, while introducing more contemporary visual qualities (cleaner lines, balanced typography, etc.).
Develop a style sheet around your strongest logo concept to demonstrate how the new identity might expand across other touchpoints.
